Help For Families – During Holidays and All Year Round

Whether during the school term or over the holidays, our commitment to supporting families continues.

Below you’ll find a comprehensive list of services and resources across areas such as safeguarding, mental health, online safety, SEND, parenting support, and financial help.

Safeguarding & Child Protection

If you are concerned about a child, it is important to take action:

  • Emergency Services: Call 999 if a child is in immediate danger.

  • Merseyside Police (non-emergency): Call 101

  • NHS Support (non-emergency): Call 111

  • Knowsley MASH (Social Worker Advice): 0151 443 2600

  • NSPCC 24/7 Helpline: 0808 800 5000

  • For your own school's Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) details, these will be available on your school website on their 'contact', 'staff' and 'safeguarding' pages.

🌱 Mental Health & Wellbeing

Emotional and mental wellbeing is essential. If your child is struggling, the following support is available:

Staying safe online is especially important over the holidays. For advice on how to protect your child online:

  • CEOP - protect from or report online abuse

  • Parentzone - supporting parenting in the digital age.
  • Internet Matters - general online safety tips for young people including setting up devices correctly.

🎓 SEND & Pastoral Care

Each school has a SENDCo and pastoral staff available to set up an appointment during term time – this contact information is on your school's 'contact' webpage.

  • Contact – Support for families with disabled children, advice on education, finances, emotional wellbeing, and navigating services.

  • National Autistic Society Holiday Guidance - preparing for changes in routine and travel tips.

  • IPSEA (Independent Provider of Special Education Advice) - free legal advice on SEND rights, EHCPs, and exclusions.

  • Council for Disabled Children (CDC) - resources on inclusive education, health, and care for children with SEND.

🍽️ Finance & Practical Help

  • Citizens Advice: Help with benefits, housing, and debt.

  • The Trussell Trust - Food Bank information.

  • Free School Meals: - contact your local council for details on any summer meal vouchers - Sefton & Knowsley
